Navigating Google Maps, Monitoring Data, and Station Control
Google Maps is a powerful tool that allows users to navigate through different locations and explore field status and data. In this support document, we will guide you on how to navigate through Google Maps and access sensor bubble markers, zone & pump monitoring and control.
Google Map Navigation: Basic navigation tools such as zooming in and out and moving around the map are covered below.
Sensor Markers: Sensor markers provide sensor information within a station, such as the temperature, soil moisture, wind direction, and or any other sensor installed on a station.
Zone Monitoring & Control: Our maps feature populates irrigation zones with polygon markers that show current irrigation status. These polygon markers are selectable for manual controls, allowing for easy monitoring and control of irrigation zones.
Pump Monitoring & Control: Our maps feature populates area pumps with icon markers that show current flow status. These icon markers are selectable for manual controls, allowing for easy monitoring and control of pumps.
Navigating Google Maps
Google Maps has various navigation options that users can utilize to move around the map. Here are some of the basic navigation tools and how to use them:
Zooming in and out
To zoom in or out of the map, use the mouse scroll wheel or the zoom controls on the screen. The zoom controls are located on the bottom right side of the map.
Alternatively, you can double-click on the map to zoom in, or double-right-click to zoom out.
Moving around the map
To move around the map, click and drag the map with your mouse. Alternatively, you can use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the map left, right, up, or down.
Sensor Markers
Sensor markers provide current sensor 5 minuets readings on a station. Here's how to access sensor bubble markers:

- Select an Area to explore in the drop down list located in the top left of the screen.
- While the Sensor Types checkbox is selected, choose a sensor classification type using the drop down list below the Sensor Types check box. Once a sensor type is selected, the map will re-draw with new markers of all the stations that have the sensor classification type installed.
- The map has an internal data refresh interval of 60 seconds. A user is able to manually refresh sensor data to pull the most recent 5 min data, manually, by clicking the Refresh Data button located in the top right of the screen. Similarly, if user would like to re-center the map to all available sensors of the selected sensor classification type, they can do so by clicking the *Refresh Map button.
- To expand the screen on Google Maps, click on the full screen button located in the top right corner of the map. This will expand the map to take up the entire screen, allowing for easier navigation and exploration.
Zone Monitoring & Control
Irrigation zones show current irrigation status and location. Here's how to access irrigation zones:

- Select an Area to explore in the drop down list located in the top left of the screen.
- Select Irrigation Zones checkbox to populate the areas zones. Selecting an irrigation zone in the drop down, will zoom the map window to the selected zone.
- The ***************Irrigation Types drop down list will default to Drip. If other irrigation types are available in the selected area, they will be in this drop down list. Once a different Irrigation type is selected, the map will repopulate with correct zones associated with the selected irrigation type.
- Zone legend - there are 6 available zone statuses
- Auto On: Schedule is active and currently irrigating.
- Auto Idle: Schedule is active and currently scheduled not to be irrigating.
- Manual On: Zone is manually turned on, ignoring any commands sent from a schedule.
- Manual Off: Zone is manually turned off, ignoring any commands sent from a schedule.
- Pause On: Zone is temporarily override on, activity irrigating, while temporarily ignoring any schedule commands set to the zone.
- Pause Off: Zone is temporarily override off, with no irrigation, while temporarily ignoring any schedule commands set to the zone.
- Zone polygons are selectable. A user can set the status of a zone manually using these feature.

Pump Monitoring & Control
Area pumps show current flow status and location. Here's how to access pumps:

Select an Area to explore in the drop down list located in the top left of the screen.
- Select Pumps checkbox to populate the areas pumps. Selecting a pump in the drop down list will zoom map window to selected pump.
- Pump icons are selectable. A user can set the status of a pump manually using this popup feature feature.
Pump Icons - there are 2 available pump icons:
- Green On: Pump with active flow
- Black Off: Pump with no active flow
- The map has an internal data refresh interval of 60 seconds. A user is able to manually refresh sensor data to pull the most recent 5 min data, manually, by clicking the Refresh Data button located in the top right of the screen. Similarly, if user would like to re-center the map to all available sensors of the selected sensor classification type, they can do so by clicking the *Refresh Map button.
